Benefits of Massage:
Dilate the blood vessels, improving the circulation and relieving congestion throughout the body.
Strengthens the immune system and eliminates toxic wastes activating and stimulating the lymph circulation to increase the outflow of fluid.
Increases blood supply and nutrition to muscles without adding to their load of toxic lactic acid, produced through voluntary muscle contraction. Massage helps to prevent the build up of harmful “fatigue” products resulting from strenuous exercise or injury.
Stretches connective tissue, improves its circulation and nutrition and so breaks down or prevents the formation of adhesions and reduces the danger of fibrosis.
Relaxes muscle spasms and relieves tension.
Provides an environment for self-appreciation and nurturing.
Provides an opportunity to learn how to relax your mind as well as your body.
Answers to Your Questions:
What kind of massage will I receive? The way you feel when you arrive will determine the modality that is chosen. Joni's specialty is medium to deep tissue massage, trigger point, myofascial release, stretches, Critz method, contemporary cupping and a style similar to Esalen for relaxation massage. Some people require help with Edema or Water Retention - Joni is able to perform some Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Either way, the pressure received for your massage will be tailored and adjusted by your needs. An open line of communication will help determine what you need.
What should I wear? With hands on massage therapies, most people wear nothing or just underwear; you will be draped during your massage for privacy and comfort. If you are just coming in for pressure and stretching (with no actual massage) you can wear running shorts or yoga pants and a t-shirt. For "Hands & Feet" massage or Foot Detox, street clothes will work. The primary concern though is that you be relaxed and comfortable.
May I wear cologne or makeup? Please consider applying cologne after you leave. Most perfumes or colognes linger long after you leave, causing allergic or sensitivity issues for your therapist and other clients. As for makeup, if you're already wearing makeup, please let Joni know so she can use a special cover - it is often difficult to remove makeup from the cotton linens.
Is draping required? Yes - draping is required for all massages.
Can I get a happy ending? NO, this is not a sexual massage, don't bother to call if that is what you're interested in.
What if I need to reschedule? All massages are scheduled by appointment and this time is reserved just for you. If you have supplied your email address you will receive a reminder email. Should you need to cancel more than 12 hours in advance you will be able to do so online. However, if you do cancel within the 12 hour rescheduling window this may result in a "NO SHOW" fee. Text or Call 254-368-1695 or 254-415-8500 to make changes to your appointment.

Some people who have skin rashes or wounds are not recommended to have a massage. Please consult your medical doctor.
